1. Meet with a lender to determine your price range. I prefer to sit in on this meeting with you so I can do my best to find you a home that is within your budget.
2. A great way to begin your home search is to look online. I can even set up a webpage for you that will show you all homes on the market meeting your criteria.
3. Prioritize the features that you are looking for in a home. Focus on the “must haves”.
4. Try not to tour more than 5 or 6 homes in one day. They start to run together.
5. Take good notes on each home you see.
6. Be respectful of appointments to tour homes that are not vacant. Sellers put a lot of effort into getting their home ready for a showing.
7. Ask the seller for a home warranty. They will rarely refuse and it protects you for one year on many potential problems.
8. Once you have an accepted offer on a home, schedule a home inspection. This will be a great way to learn about your home and uncover potential problems.
9. Ask me questions. If I don’t know the answer, I will get you the answer.
